Bedding In Procedures

Brake pads should be replaced by qualified staff who are capable of performing car servicing according to the manufacturer’s specifications.

After fitting new brake pads, it is necessary to bed-in and condition the material surfaces correctly with the following procedure:

Accelerate the vehicle to 60km/h
Using light to moderate pedal effort, reduce speed to 10km/hr
Repeat steps 1 & 2 at least 10 times allowing 400m between cycles.

DO NOT make repeated brake applications in quick succession or drive with brakes continuously applied during bedding-in. This may lead to over-heating causing loss of braking efficiency, poor pedal feel and possible noise.

WARNING: Before and during bedding-in, braking performance may be reduced.
