Dried Aloe leaves are elongated and brittle, coloured in tones of earthy brown, tan, sepia and pale gold. The leaves twist during the drying process and take on lovely shapes that range from spirals to curls, corkscrews and scrolls.

Be lulled by the delicate yellow-golden hue of the liquor and then be prepared for a smack of bitterness! Aloe Leaf Tea is best steeped with a touch of palm sugar to cut through the strong, tangy tart, bitter aftertaste. It is aptly named from the Arabic word Alloeh – shining bitter substance!

For hot tea:
– 250ml just-boiled water
– Put 2 to 3 grams of tea / 1 to 2 teaspoons
– Let it steep for 3 to 5 minutes

For iced tea:
– 250ml just-boiled water
– Put 4 to 6 grams of tea / 2 to 3 teaspoons
– Let it steep for 3 to 5 minutes
– Pour over the glass with ice
– Add your preferred sweetener

For cold brewing:
– Tumbler or jar with lid
– 250ml water
– Put 6 grams of tea
– Store in the fridge for 24 hours
