Where previous adaptations have ended at Cathy’s death, this production goes on to tell the whole tale of a love that reaches beyond the grave.

Nothing is known of Heathcliffe’s mysterious past when Mr Earnshaw adopts him into his own family, but his daughter Cathy recognises a soul of the same fibre as her own. They are divided by birth, by class, and by Cathy’s jealous brother, but nothing can break the bond between them, not even when Cathy marries the wealthy and gentle Edgar Linton.
